If the most sensitive thing about you is your skin, this may protect you in emotional emergencies, but it is certainly not an advantage dermatologically. We’ll keep quiet about how sensitive I can be, but it’s true about my skin: It’s an ideal test area for beauty products because it behaves like an embarrassed diva: quickly irritated, easily stressed, and then quickly turns red.
Talking of red – “red carpet perennialists” from Hollywood & Co. are currently on the move according to the motto “let it soak in instead of pulling it in” and are using care products with hemp in beauty matters. And that works? You should find out, right?
From cooling gel to lotion: skin care with hemp
Since 2017, cannabis flowers and preparations have been marketable in Germany thanks to the Cannabis Act and can be prescribed by a doctor on prescription. The stigmatized plant has been transformed into a versatile medicine, and hemp is experiencing hype as an ingredient. And because you can only judge after you’ve tried something, I sent my skin for a test. Your date: the Adrexolin lotion for the face and a cooling gel for athletes or home office acrobats.
Hemp? Who, how what?
The ingredient cannabidiol (CBD) is known for its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and soothing properties. The contained hemp seed oil is one of the richest carriers of the unsaturated fatty acids omega-3 and omega-6. Only purely natural ingredients from the field of natural cosmetics such as tea tree oil, lavender, rosemary oil, hemp seed oil and cannabidiol (CBD) are used for Adrexolin.
Where is the difference now?
Cannabidiols, or CBD for short, are a component of the hemp plant and are extracted from the flowers and leaves in a complex extraction process. The highest concentration of CBD is found in the female flowers. Hemp oil, on the other hand, is cold pressed from the seeds – it has only a very low CBD content. In cosmetics, a combination of CBD and hemp oil is usually included. The reason for this is that CBD needs a carrier like hemp oil to become effective.
Okay, sounds technically Klingon for now. What is the effect now? The result is a regenerating cooling gel and a body and face lotion for daily basic care when the skin is dry or irritated, itchy or prone to Neurodermatitis. Well then, welcome, mine would say now.
Cooling-Gel with CBD
We start with the new cooling gel on CBD basis. Of course, I know from playing soccer or running that I sometimes feel pressure in the same places. And even if pressure in life sometimes helps, skin areas are less happy about it. Anyone who has broken in new soccer shoes or Doc Martens knows what I’m talking about. And the annoyed signals of the wrist, if you have brought the smartphone too long in the typical two-finger position at the battery limits, probably also so some can feel. Therefore, I found a cooling gel quite exciting.
Minimal appearance, but to help you don’t always have to play it cool.
When to contact the little helper here? The CBD solution contributes to the care of heavily stressed muscles and joints after physical exertion or after sports, but also takes care of keyboard-stressed wrists or other home office irritations. Adrex Cannabis Regenerating Cooling Gel is based on 20% pure CBD solution and natural plant substances. It has a really pleasant scent of glacier candy and mint, which is no coincidence: essential oils like mint oil or menthol make your body feel relaxed. Scent check absolutely passed.
What else is in it, you can see in the small graphic. The application is simple: 1-3 times a day apply thinly to the affected area and rub. By the way, the gel behaves like chili – better not bring near the eyes.
Clean, classy and cooling: the cooling CBD gel is a little all-rounder.
And then? Wait? Yes, of course it’s not superhero power that frees you from all your burdens with a snap of the fingers. But it cools you down directly, like dangling your feet in a mountain stream on a summer’s day, and then does its job discreetly like a good agent. Don’t worry: you won’t freeze to death, nor will you feel like you’re being maltreated with ice cubes. And please: a cooling gel should be allowed to be cool on the skin. By the way, this was also the opinion of a buddy, to whom I gave a tube for his triathlon training. He was more than happy that the stressed areas got a fire extinguisher care treatment. Body lotion with CBD
But further in the text. I have now no practical hemp experience, but the cream smells first woody, straw-like. A bit like medicine – which also often has a taste like herbal liquor forgotten for years in the sauna, but helps. And that’s what counts.
Skin care with hemp: What works?
The lotion is very easy to apply very soft, without being too liquid and absorbs really quickly. Worries about comforter covers or hoodies you do not have to worry. When absorbed, it initially pulls a bit on the skin, but maybe mine was really so unrelaxed. Then it gets a little warmer for a few seconds, and you have at least the feeling that something is happening. More you feel but not, and that’s actually cool so. After the second application, the skin gets used to it. And after the first week, you can say that the eye area and especially the areas stressed during contour shaving have calmed noticeably.
Well thought out. The CBD lotion has travel size and fits easily in the jacket pocket.
Hand end tension times differently, but seriously and helpfully. First and foremost for the skin and the counterpart.
But there is still a clou. Currently, hands feel like massaged with sandpaper and blow-dried, because the whole wash and rinse clean with disinfectant gel helps, but takes the skin just neat. Of course, the lotion is primarily aimed at the face, then at the body – but that also includes hands, and in hectic #staysafe times they are also happy about a portion of creamy relaxation. Works.
So, Markus, final judge? Skin care with hemp – unusual, but recommended – both!
